Savage or Sensible - A Parent Forcing Their 18 Year-Old Who Didn't End Up Going to College Because of COVID to Get a Job Even Though They Don't Want One

If you've ever got a topic you want us to bring up on the show to put on the savage scale you can reach out to us like this person did...

"Hey guys, I've got a savage or sensible for you. So I'm 18 and I should be a freshman in college right now, but because of COVID my parents and I agreed it would be best if I didn't go. I was super bummed and torn about it, but ultimately it's the safest decision. However now I'm home and they're pressuring me to get a job because "I shouldn't just be sitting around the house all day." Isn't it a little hypocritical of them to agree I shouldn't go to school because of COVID, but I should put myself out there for some part time job I don't want to be doing? It just doesn't make sense to me and it's becoming a bigger and bigger point of contention with them. I should probably mention that financially my family is fine, so it's not like they need me to work to contribute or anything. I'm really curious to hear what you and your listeners think!"

What do you think? Are the parents being savage or sensible?
