Two Original Netflix Shows Have Officially Been Cancelled

February 19, 2019

Netflix announced Monday that it has canceled it's last-remaining Marvel series: Jessica Jones and The Punisher. “Marvel’s The Punisher will not return for a third season on Netflix,” the streaming service tells Deadline. “Showrunner Steve Lightfoot, the terrific crew, and exceptional cast including star Jon Bernthal, delivered an acclaimed and compelling series for fans, and we are proud to showcase their work on Netflix for years to come.” The Punisher’s 13-episode second season premiered on January 18, 2019. Netflix added that the recently completed third season of the Krysten Ritter-led Jessica Jones will still be released later this year, but will end after that. In late 2018, the streaming service also axed Marvel’s Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil.
