The U.S. women's national soccer team's 13-0 win over Thailand on Tuesday wasn't just an embarrassment to their on-field opponents; it was also pretty shameful for the U.S. men's team. As CNN notes, the women scored more goals on Tuesday than the 12 goals that the men's team scored in the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cups combined. You could argue that the men's 12-goal tally also includes the 2018 World Cup--which they failed to qualify for. The discrepancy is even more gobsmacking considering the U.S. women's team players still aren't paid as much as the men.
