Uber has announced plans to start deactivating riders if their ratings are too low. The company announced in a blog post on Wednesday that, starting in the U.S. and Canada, riders with a "significantly below average rating" will lose access to the ride-hailing app. CNN reports that the company did not say what rating would qualify riders to be deactivated, but claimed those who are on the verge of being kicked off would get several notifications and chances to improve their rating before getting nixed. If you lose access to Uber, you also won't be able to use their other ventures, like the Uber Eats app or its e-scooter Jump app.
