In the Season 18 premiere of The Voice, returning judges Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend were joined by new guest Nick Jonas--who made quite an entrance when he parasailed onto the set. Once the auditions began, Nelson Cada III wowed the judges early with a powerful version of Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Pride and Joy." Not only did he get all four judges to turn, he also got John Legend to block him from Nick Jonas, who told Cada, "You could probably win this competition. You are a star, and wow.". Cada eventually chose to stay with Team Legend. Jonas then took to the stage to perform Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" with 16-year-old Tate Brusa, At this point, Shelton wanted Brusa on his team, and brought out a puppy to persuade him, but he ultimately chose Team Nick. Later, 50-year-old Todd Michael Hall unleashed a ferocious versos of Foreigner's "Jukebox Hero" that got John Legend turned around and on his feet. Blake also loved the performance, telling him, "That is incredible. That takes me back to the hair bands, man. That is what I love. That is a direct path to the finale, dude." Hall then chose Team Shelton over Team Legend. The show returns Tuesday with another night of auditions.
