According to a new study, several common sunscreen ingredients enter the bloodstream after just one day of use. The levels of these ingredients are high enough to have led to a government safety investigation that is being conducted by the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, an arm of the US Food and Drug Administration, CNN reports. The FDA said of the four chemicals studied that there needs to be research done by manufacturers before they can be "generally regarded as safe and effective." Still, don't stop using your SPF any time soon. As one expert said, "The sun is the real enemy here."
