While this week's rash of tornados had most Midwesterners running for cover, storm chaser Joey Krastel had other plans: an engagement. NBC News reports that Krastel popped the question to boyfriend Chris Scott on Tuesday as the couple chased a twister-filled storm with friends in Tipton, Kansas. “It all just kind of came together and happened so quickly,” says Krastel, a meteorologist and risk analyst for the Maryland Emergency Management Agency. “I was like ‘OK, this is it.’” The couple met after Scott--who chased storms with his dad and grew up loving the movie Twister--messaged Krastel on Instagram about the storm photos he was posting. “That’s why it was always in the back of my mind to get engaged during storm chasing,” Krastel adds. “I felt like it would be this perfect way to seal the deal." Naturally, Krastel tweeted a photo from the moment of engagement featuring them with a giant cyclone in the background. He captioned the snap, "The two loves of my life."
