On May 17, someone parked a short-term rental car in one of property owner Don Smith's private parking spots on Seattle's Queen Anne Hill. Smith responded by building a makeshift fence around the Car2Go Mercedes and demanding that its owner, Share Now, pay him $65 a day for vehicle storage fees, $300 for the barricade and up to $500 for what he calls harassment fees. Share Now tells KIRO-7 that multiple customers have sought to move the car out of Smith's spot in the last two weeks, but have been unable to do so because of the barricade. Meanwhile, Smith's tenant who pays for the spot says he finds a Car2Go vehicle there at least "once every two months."
