R. Kelly's Team Could Face Obstruction of Justice Charges Thanks to Grand Jury Testimony

May 30, 2019

R. Kelly's team could be in even more legal hot water going by Wednesday's grand jury testimony. According to TMZ, witnesses testified that the disgraced R&B singer's crew arranged for underage girls to travel across state lines, at the behest of the musician, for "sexual purposes." Separately, Kelly's team also allegedly paid off witnesses--including the family of his goddaughter--or paid for them to go on vacation to prevent them from testifying at his 2008 trial, where he was acquitted of child pornography charges. TMZ notes these actions could lead to obstruction of justice charges. R. Kelly's attorney, Steven Greenberg, declined to comment.
