President Trump Will Sign Social Media Executive Order Thursday After Threatening Shutdowns

U.S. President Donald Trump will sign an executive order on social media companies on Thursday, according to Reuters. On Wednesday, the president threatened to shut down social media sites because he claimed they were suppressing conservatives. "We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen,” he tweeted. The tweets were a response to Twitter putting warning labels on two Trump tweets about mail voting. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, in an interview set to air Thursday, said it wouldn't be the "right reflex" to censor a platform. “Big Tech is doing everything in their very considerable power to CENSOR in advance of the 2020 Election,” Trump tweeted Wednesday night. “If that happens, we no longer have our freedom.”
