NBC Late Night Shows, "Grey's Anatomy" Go Dark Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

March 13, 2020

NBC is shutting down production on two of its New York City-based late night shows as coronavirus fears increase. Entertainment Weekly reports that The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night With Seth Meyers will be going dark through at least March 30. It had been previously announced that the shows would be recorded without audiences. Fallon taped his final show for the time being without an audience on Thursday. Repeat episodes are scheduled to begin on Friday. Both late night shows already had hiatuses planned for the week of March 23. Meanwhile, out in L.A., Grey's Anatomy has postponed production for at least two weeks "out of an abundance of caution" as they wait "to see how the coronavirus situation evolves."
