A Minor League Ballpark Bans Peanuts, Cracker Jack Over Allergy Fears

"Take Me Out to the Ballgame" is now officially outdated at one Connecticut minor league ballpark. Dunkin’ Donuts Park, home of the Colorado Rockies' Class-AA team Hartford Yard Goats, has banned peanuts and Cracker Jack over allergy fears. Team President Tim Restall tells USA Today the ban arose out of dialogue with parents of kids with severe peanut allergies. "We want this ballpark to be everyone's ballpark," he said. "If we can make their experience at the ballpark normal, but eliminate one food item, it’s the right thing to do." Patrons are also banned from bringing peanuts into the ballpark.
