A female police officer in Atlanta is going viral after filming her McDonald's meltdown. The "Karen cop" explains in the clip that she ordered a McMuffin at the drive-through, then decided to cancel it out of fear that employees would mess with her food. “I said ‘don’t bother with the food because right now I’m too nervous to take it.’ It doesn’t matter how many hours I’ve been up. It doesn’t matter what I’ve done for anyone. Right now I’m too nervous to take a meal from McDonald’s because I can’t see it being made," the officer says while holding back tears. "I don’t know what’s going on with people nowadays, but please, just give us a break. Please just give us a break. I don’t know how much more I can take. I have been in this for 15 years and I have never ever had such anxiety about waiting for McDonald’s drive-through food. So please just have a heart and if you see an officer just tell them ‘thank you.’ Because I don’t hear ‘thank you’ enough anymore.” Phrases like "McMuffin" and "Officer Karen" both started trending on Twitter thanks to the video. "Officers collapsing into self-pity because they’re mildly inconvenienced... while a whole lot of Americans fear for their lives when they see them coming," one Twitter user commented, while another wrote, "Officer Karen is not mentally stable enough to be a cop." TMZ notes that her breakdown comes days after an NYPD police union accused Shake Shack employees of putting poison in three cops' milkshakes--a claim that the NYPD itself later declared was unfounded. Meanwhile, it was at another Atlanta drive-through where Rayshard Brooks was shot dead by cops this week after falling asleep in his car.
