Jussie Smollett Grand Jury May Be Delayed; Assault Parallels Plot of Play He Auditioned for

February 19, 2019

One day after it reported that a grand jury was being convened for the Jussie Smollett case, TMZ now reports that "there is now a 50/50 chance it could be delayed for several days." That's reportedly because "cops want to make sure they have all the records necessary for grand jurors to reach a conclusion on whether to indict Smollett" for lying to cops and/or filing a false police report. Meanwhile, the two brothers accused of executing the assault have allegedly said they're willing to testify, even though Abel and Ola Osundairo have yet to be subpoenaed, nor have their received immunity from the prosecution. Smollett's lawyers also told ET on Monday that reports about Chicago cops requesting a followup interview with the actor "are inaccurate."
