Former reality star Jon Gosselin claims in a new interview that TLC offered him $1 million to stay married to his ex-wife Kate, so the network could extend Jon and Kate Plus 8 for another two seasons. According to Us Weekly, Gosselin also says the network pressured him to lie about the state of his relationship-- and even paid for the couple's marriage counseling. Gosselin refused and says he left the show "so my children would never have to relive our divorce." The Gosselin's split in 2009, and the divorce was acrimonious. They still share custody of 18-year-old twins Madelyn and Cara and 15-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Joel, Leah, Hannah, and Collin. Gosselin told the outlet in 2018 that he worries about his children still living with Kate. “I do know what she’s capable of, whether it’s mental or physical [abuse>,” he continued, noting that had he taken the money he "probably wouldn’t even be sitting here today. But I couldn’t live with myself. I couldn’t live a lie.”
