Former Vice President Joe Biden said in a statement Sunday that he did not act inappropriately with former Nevada assemblywoman Lucy Flores. As The New York Times reports, Biden's statement came after an essay written by Flores was posted on The Cut Friday. In the essay, she discussed an awkward kiss and unwanted touching by Biden during a 2014 campaign rally. She alleged he put his hands on her shoulders and then slowly kissed the back of her head. In his statement, the potential 2020 Presidential candidate wrote, "Not once--never--did I believe I acted inappropriately. He went on to mention the "countless handshakes, hugs," he's offered to people to show "support and comfort." Biden added, "I may not recall these moments the same way, and I may be surprised at what I hear. But we have arrived at an important time when women feel they can and should relate their experiences, and men should pay attention. And I will."
