JAY-Z has explained his decision to partner with the NFL despite the fact athlete and activist Colin Kaepernick still doesn’t have a job. According to tweets from ESPN’s Jason Reid, Jay said during a press conference on Wednesday that he is he’s focused on trying to help as many people as he can and working on the system from within. Reid also noted that, from the music mogul’s perspective, Kaepernick protests were about shining a light on the problem and everyone now knows what the problem is. Jay also revealed to reporters that he spoke with Kaepernick about the new deal between the league and Roc Nation, but didn’t share what was said. It was announced on Tuesday that the NFL has partnered Roc Nation to enhance the league’s live game experiences and social justice efforts.
