Former FBI director James Comey attempted to make an April Fools' Day joke on social media yesterday and the Twitterverse was not having it. As Mashable reports, Comey tweeted a photo of himself walking down the middle of an empty road and wrote, "I'm in. We need someone in the middle. #2020." The consensus response to Comey's fake campaign announcement seemed to be what journalist Erick Fernandez summed up when he replied, "Yo dude this is exhausting." Political journalist Kimberly Atkins, however, seemed to put it best for those already tired of the 2020 presidential race by tweeting, "April Fools' Day has officially jumped the shark."
