In 2018, Brooke Eaton suffered a terrible tragedy: she lost her 2-year-old son Cash in a drowning accident. A grieving Eaton donated Cash's heart and organs in the hopes that they might help someone in need, and this week she got to see that they did. Cash's heart was transplanted into 1-year-old Lola Bonds, who suffered from a dangerously enlarged heart. Last week Eaton was able to visit little Lola at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, and the meeting was caught on video by Lola's grandmother Margaret Bond Vorel. In the video, Eaton holds Lola while listening on a stethoscope, and breaks into tears when she hears the little child's heart beating. "There's no doubt we wouldn't have Lola if we hadn't received this miracle. It is amazing," Vorel said. Eaton told Good Morning America that her grief comes in waves, but when Lola reached out to her, "We bonded instantly and it felt so right."
