"DodgeBall" & "Men in Black" Actor Rip Torn Dead at 88

Actor Rip Torn, best known for his roles in the Men in Black franchise and DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story, died on Tuesday. He was 88. According to a statement released by his family, Torn "passed away peacefully" at his home in Lakeville, Connecticut, with "his wife Amy Wright, and daughters Katie Torn and Angelica Page by his side." Entertainment Tonight reports that the actor was born Elmore Rual Torn Jr. in 1931 and made his film debut in an uncredited role in the 1956 film Baby Doll. He went on appear in nearly 200 movies and TV shows, including HBO’s The Larry Sanders Show. He also won an an Emmy in 2008 for his guest role as Don Geiss on 30 Rock.
