International soccer superstar Cristian Ronaldo will not be charged in a 2009 sexual assault case after Clark County, Nevada, prosecutors said they could not prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt. The alleged incident took place in Las Vegas in 2009, when Kathryn Mayorga claimed Ronaldo assaulted her in a hotel room after the two met at a nightclub. Mayorga filed a police report at the time, claiming Ronaldo sodomized her against her will, and that he paid her $375,000 to stay silent, an agreement she later wanted voided. Ronaldo, who now plays for Juventus F.C., has vehemently denied the charges, saying, "Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in."
