A new study issued by the Environmental Working Group shows that Cheerios and other General Mills cereals continue to test positive for glyphosate, the main ingredient in the weed killer Roundup. CNN reports that the study comes hot on the heels of two legal verdicts which determined that the herbicide caused cancer in plaintiffs. However, a Mount Sinai doctor says trace amounts of the herbicide are "unlikely to cause health effects in customers," and that it's "not surprising" that glyphosate finds its way into cereals, given that it's commonly used on farms that grow oats.
