In a very unsurprising turn of events, the set of the Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot appears to be dealing with some drama. Variety reports that showrunner Patrick Sean Smith and several senior writers have quit the show, which is being called BH90210. The potential reasons for the exits? One source said the dispute was over interference from two of the show’s lead actresses, while another noted that the writers were unhappy with one of the executives overseeing the project. The six-episode series is slated to premiere on Fox on August 7, and feature original cast members Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, and Tori Spelling playing what Variety terms "heightened versions of themselves."
