Barbra Streisand Apologizes for Controversial "Leaving Neverland" Comments

March 25, 2019

Barbra Streisand has backtracked on comments she made about Leaving Neverland, claiming in a Twitter statement that she was "profoundly sorry" and had experienced "deep remorse." “I didn’t mean to dismiss the trauma these boys experienced in any way," she tweeted on Saturday. "Like all survivors of sexual assault, they will have to carry this for the rest of their lives." In an interview The Times published on Friday, the 76-year-old had said on-record that though she believes Michael Jackson's accusers, she also questions whether being sexually assaulted by a world-famous musician really was so damaging to their lives. She also expressed her believe that If anyone's to blame, it's the parents, for allowing "their children to sleep with him."
