Nearly a year after Avicii’s death, members of the late DJ’s family have launched a suicide-prevention foundation in his honor. Variety reports that The Tim Bergling Foundation, named after the DJ’s given name, “will initially focus on supporting people and organizations working in the field of mental illness and suicide prevention." "Tim wanted to make a difference," the statement explains. "Starting a foundation in his name is our way to honor his memory and continue to act in his spirit." The foundation will also be active in climate change, development assistance, nature conservation, and endangered species. The Swedish DJ died in Oman on April 20, 2018, of an apparent suicide. He was 28.
