Amanda Bynes' Mother Will Make Final Decision About Whether She Can Marry

February 20, 2020

Even though Amanda Bynes thinks she's getting married, she might not be able to without her mom's permission, according to Us Weekly. On Valentine's Day, Bynes announced she was engaged, posting a photo of a diamond ring and another of her and a man later identified as Paul Michael. However, Amanda's mother is still her conservator. A source claims, “if Amanda’s parents did not consent to the marriage, they can petition the court to annul the marriage on the basis of Amanda’s ‘unsound mind.’” Her parents weren't surprised by Bynes' engagement declaration; the source says, "nothing Amanda does surprises them anymore." It's easy to see why her parents might be reluctant to allow the marriage. The source says, "Amanda’s not currently working. She doesn’t have friends. And her relationship with her parents continues to be a roller coaster." In June 2019, Bynes attended her graduation ceremony after earning her bachelor's degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. In December, Bynes checked out of a sober living facility, but it is unclear if she's returned. As for her man Paul Michael, a source says that he's "very goth" and "has a very dark personality."
