4-Month-Old Puppy Found Safe Nearly 2 Weeks After Car Crash

June 25, 2019

On May 14, Michael Crocker and his new shelter puppy, a 4-month-old yellow lab named Bella, were riding in Crocker's GMC Yukon Denali along Route 66 near Flagstaff, Arizona, when the SUV rolled over. Crocker was airlifted to a hospital in Phoenix, but Bella was nowhere to be found. After learning about Bella's plight, volunteers from the Humane Animal Rescue and Trapping Team began searching for the pup near the crash site. Thirteen days after the accident, they heard some whimpering and found Bella with her leash tangled around a bush. "After 13 days, it was quite frankly a miracle that she was alive and conscious without food and water," HARTT founder Cheryl Naumann told The Arizona Daily Sun. Crocker and Bella have since been reunited and are recuperating from the accident together.
