At a show in Dubai on Wednesday, 1975 frontman Matty Healy kissed a male audience member, in direction violation of the country's strict anti-LGBTQ laws. After the smooch, which Healy gave after asking permission, he said, "I love you, bro. We're all human, right?" The kiss was just one of many bold statements Healy made during the gig; at another point, he said, "If you're gay, I love you, and God f**king loves you." Homosexuality is banned and illegal in Dubai, and those who break the law may go to jail. Healy seemed well aware of what he was doing, as after the show he tweeted, "Thank you, Dubai; you were so amazing. I don’t think we’ll be allowed back due to my ‘behavior,’ but know that I love you and I wouldn’t have done anything differently given the chance again."
