Roseanne Blames Co-Star Sara Gilbert for "Destroying My Life" With a Tweet

Why did Roseanne Barr get booted off her own sitcom reboot last year? According to Barr, her co-star Sara Gilbert is to blame. In a new interview with The Washington Post, the 66-year-old comedian claims it wasn't her own tweet that got her canned--in which she described onetime Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett as "Muslim brotherhood and Planet of the Apes had a baby." Instead, Barr says what led to her Roseanne termination was when Gilbert tweeted in response, "Roseanne’s recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least." Says Barr, "[Gilbert> destroyed the show and my life with that tweet.” Page Six notes that Barr previously said about her firing, "I said to God, ‘I am willing to accept whatever consequences this brings because I know I’ve done wrong. I’m going to accept what the consequences are.'"
