March 2, 2019

Remember Travis Kauffman, the Colorado jogger who went viral in early February for killing a mountain lion with his bare hands in self-defense? Well, according to a necropsy performed by a Colorado Parks and Wildlife veterinarian, that lion weighed just 34 to 40 pounds and was likely a 4-month-old kitten. Kauffman, who suffered minor injuries to his face and neck during the attack, weighs 150 pounds. The Coloradoan reports that he killed the mountain kitten by hitting its head with a rock and suffocating it by stepping on its throat.
