Fran Belibi Becomes 2nd Female High-School Basketball Player to win Dunk Contest Against Dudes

March 26, 2019

On Monday in Atlanta, Stanford recruit Fran Belibi became just the second female high-school basketball player to win the Powerade JamFest against male players. Future WNBA star Candace Parker won the event in 2004, while the likes of Vince Carter, LeBron James and Zion Williamson have also prevailed. The 6'1" Belibi sealed her victory by donning a cape and jumping over future Stanford teammate Ashten Prechtel, who was sitting in a chair, to flush the ball with one hand. As ESPN notes, Belibi also put down a one-handed reverse on the baseline, a left-handed dunk and a two-handed flush off the backboard from future Stanford teammate and No. 1 prospect Haley Jones.
