Virginia Bride Arrested for Embezzling $93K From Employer to Fund Wedding & Butt Lift

March 29, 2019

A Virginia bride might spend her honeymoon behind bars after she was arrested this week for allegedly embezzling $93,000 from her former employer to fund her wedding. Vanessa Cline used to work as a bookkeeper at No Limits Construction in Fredericksburg. Recently, the company's owner was informed by his credit card company "that one of his accounts was going to be closed due to lack of payment," according to the Stafford County sheriff's office. The owner then discovered that Cline had made several unauthorized purchases on the company credit card, spending $25,000 on a wedding planner, $2,000 on a wedding gown and $7,000 for a butt lift at Elite Plastic Surgery in Miami, Florida. Believe it or not, Cline was reportedly hired to replace No Limits' last bookkeeper, who left because she pleaded guilty to embezzling at least $150,000 from the company between January 2016 and January 2018. Cline was arrested on Wednesday and now faces five counts of embezzlement, five counts of forgery and five counts of uttering.
