Back in May a relative of Freddie Mack's told police he hadn't heard from the reclusive Texas man in weeks. When Johnson County deputies visited Mack's trailer, they found bone pieces, but no sign of Mack. But then they inspected the feces of Mack's 18 dogs and found bits of human hair and clothes, coming to the shocking realization that the canines had devoured their owner. Odds are good that the 57-year-old, who suffered from several "serious medical conditions," died before his dogs devoured him; it's surprisingly common for canines to eat human remains. That being said, a senior investigator told The Washington Post that the'd never heard of pets consuming an entire person.
