Warner Bros. has dropped the first trailer for Doctor Sleep, the upcoming film adaptation of Stephen King’s 2013 novel sequel to The Shining. The clip takes viewers back into the infamous Overlook Hotel and introduces Ewan McGregor as Danny Torrance, who’s followed his father’s footsteps into alcoholism. Things change for him, however, when the hauntings persist and he stumbles upon a young, magical tween who must evade a circus of psychic vampires. “This is an adaptation of the novel Doctor Sleep that takes place within the cinematic universe that Kubrick established,” director Mike Flanagan recently told Den of Geek. The film also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Zahn McClarnon, Kyliegh Curran, Carl Lumbly, Alex Essoe, Jacob Tremblay, and Bruce Greenwood. Doctor Sleep hits theaters on November 8.
