Could an actor from Avengers: Endgame end up winning an Oscar? Hint-hint: If you don't want to hear any whiff of a spoiler, it's time to skedaddle. In a new article, Vanity Fair makes the argument that Robert Downey Jr. could and should get nominated for an Academy Award for his role in the film. While Marvel movies--with the exception of  Black Panther--usually don't get attention from the Academy, the essay argues that Downey deserves it. The writer points out that not only does his character, Tony Stark, have the most significant emotional arc in Endgame, Downey has actually grown that character emotionally over the past 11 years. With Downey as the linchpin of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the essay argues honoring him with a Best Supporting Actor Oscar would be the best way to pay tribute to legacy of the Avengers franchise.
