Lil Nas X made his TV performance debut on Monday when he sang his viral hit "Old Town Road" on Showtime's Desus & Mero. "It's unreal," Lil Nas said told the co-hosts beforehand about his rise to fame, adding that he recorded the country-trap track exactly once before releasing it online. Meanwhile, the artist also joined Desus Nice and The Kid Mero on their YouTube channel for a game of "Country or Nah," where he was asked to declare what is and isn't country. First and foremost, Nas insisted that he's not the current "King of Country," agreeing instead to be called "Prince of Country." He went on to declare that hot sauce, hay, stepping in horse manure, spaghetti, suede, denim, and Nelly are all "country." When asked if "racism" is country, Nas replied, "...Pass?"
