Brazilians have one of the highest rates of C-section births in the world--55.5 percent, compared to 33 percent in the U.S.--and, by gum, they're not afraid to watch 'em! To wit, The Washington Post reports that C-section viewing parties have become all the rage in the South American country, where friends and relatives gather in front of a delivery-room window to watch newborns being ripped from the loins of moms, many of whom get done up for the occasion by makeup artists and manicurists. In fact, an entire industry has sprung up around these surgical soirees, with one company promising "fully sterilized decorations."
