Massachusetts company Moderna Inc. reported Monday that their coronavirus vaccine has shown promising early results, the AP reports. The tests triggered the hoped-for antibody results in eight middle-aged test volunteers, who ended up with antibodies similar to those seen in people who have recovered from COVID-19 after either a low or medium dose. The vaccine seems safe in those doses, although a higher-dose version has been scrapped after people experienced side effects. These results are only the first of three stages of testing that vaccines usually go through. U.S. government officials have launched a project called “Operation Warp Speed” to develop a vaccine and hopefully have 300 million doses by January.
