Accused Sexual Predator Mario Batali Gives Up Ownership Stakes in All His Restaurants

March 6, 2019

The New York Times reports that accused sexual predator Mario Batali has given up his ownership stakes in all his restaurant endeavors, including Eataly. The celebrity chef “will no longer profit from the restaurants in any way, shape or form,” said Tanya Bastianich Manuali, who will lead operations at a new company created to replace the Batali & Bastianich Hospitality Group. Reports of Batali's history of sexual aggression first surfaced in 2017, and several of Batali & Bastianich Hospitality Group's restaurants closed shortly thereafter.
